New Teachers and Staff 2024-2025

McKinley King

Mr. M

Mr. McKinley King will be an assistant principal at Taylor County High School! This will be his 6th year in education. Last year, he was the Dean of Students at TCHS and before that, he taught Social Studies.

Mr. King has his Bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University in Social Studies/ History and his Master's degree from the University of the Cumberlands in Teacher Leader: School Community Builder. He also has his Rank I in Educational Leadership.

He says, "I am excited to begin my new role as Assistant Principal at Taylor County High School. I look forward to working with the Taylor County High School stakeholders to ensure all students graduate college and/or career-ready.

Mr. King and his wife, Taylor, have twin girls, Ella and Elsie.

Hagen Tyler

Mr. Hagen Tyler is NEW to his role as a PE teacher at Taylor County High School! He has three years of experience in education and was previously the PE teacher at TCMS. Coach Tyler received his Bachelors and two Master's degrees from Campbellsville University.

He says that is he looking forward to "working with the high school kids who I had in middle school. Most of the students at the high school are ones I've been able to build relationships with the last few years."

Jane Tucker

Ms. Jane Tucker will teach English at Taylor County High School this year! This is her 2nd year in education, having taught 6th-grade writing at Green County Middle School last year.

She grew up as a Taylor County Cardinal and graduated from TCHS in 2019. She graduated from the University of Louisville with a Masters in Middle/Secondary English Education. She is currently enrolled at the University of the Cumberlands to obtain her Masters in Teacher Leadership.

She says, "I am looking forward to getting to know my new students, teaching about stories that I love, and getting to work in the hallways that I grew up in."

Ms. Tucker has a wedding planned in October with her fiancé, Nathan! They have one cat together, Cricket, and enjoy spending their free time walking and running.

Tiffany Carnes

Mrs. Tiffany Carnes will teach math at Taylor County High School this year! She has over 25 years of experience in education and previously taught at Russell County High School. She received her Bachelor's in Mathematics and her Master's in Mathematics Education, both from WKU. She received her Rank I from EKU in Educational Leadership.

She says, "I look forward to meeting and learning about my new students and co-workers. Also, I can't wait to teach in this beautiful building! I love teaching so I can't wait to teach my new students all sorts of mathematical concepts!"

Mrs. Carnes is married and has two sons: Colton is in law school at UK and her youngest, Gage, is a junior at LWC. She loves to play the piano and is a huge UK sports fan!

Shellie Miracle

Mrs. Shellie Miracle will teach Algebra I at Taylor County High School this year! She started her journey in education as a para-educator in Garrard Co. Since then, she completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees from EKU and has taught math in Lincoln Co., Madison Co., and at Campbellsville Middle School.

She says, "I look forward to meeting all the students and sharing with them my love for math."

Mrs. Miracle has been married to her husband, Tony, for 34 years and they have two children: Morgan 24, and Logan 22. Her family loves camping, fishing, traveling, gardening, and the Lord.
