College & Career Counseling
Welcome to the College and Career Counseling webpage! My goal is to provide you with all resources necessary to ensure you are life ready by graduation!
Mrs. Dana Rogers is the College and Career Counselor at Taylor County High School.
She graduated from TCHS in 1991, earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Middle School Math Endorsement at Campbellsville University, then went on to earn a Master’s degree and Rank 1 from Western Kentucky University.
She started as a career rotation class teacher at TCHS, then taught sixth grade math for two years before moving back to the high school and working with former guidance counselor Diane Rogers, whose advice she says still relies on after 22 years of being a school counselor at TCHS.
“I get up every single morning and I enjoy coming into work,” Mrs. Rogers says. “I think it’s a blessing.”
Her favorite part of being a school counselor is helping students chart the unknown waters that lie beyond high school graduation.
“Our office is a resource: we may not know the answers to everything, but we like to bridge the gap between students and whatever they might need. Beyond just college and career counseling, every student needs at least one person they feel they can connect with, and while it won’t always be us, sometimes it is us, and we want them to know they can always come to us if they need help.”
