Taylor County High School Mock Trial Team has had a great season so far this year! In January, they celebrated their first Alumni Day, competed in UK’s Invitational Tournament online, and entered two teams in the Regional Tournament held in Owensboro, KY.

 

At the UK Invitational:

⭐️ Baylee Sharlow and Reid Dabney earned recognition as Outstanding Attorneys.

⭐️ Hope Hansford and Molly Myers earned recognition as Outstanding Witnesses.

At Regionals:

⭐️ The Red Team qualified for the State Tournament, which will be held in Lexington from February 28 - March 2.

⭐️ Jude Hess, Zoey Bottom, and Gabe Watts earned judge recognition as Outstanding Attorneys.

⭐️ Elijah Rogers and Molly Myers earned judge recognition as Outstanding Witnesses.

⭐️ Abbigale Howell, Baylee Sharlow, Elijah Rogers, Gabe Watts, Hope Hansford, Jonah Buechel, Maylee Holt, Molly Myers, Nashya Winfrey, Reid Dabney, and Zoey Bottom were also given Star Awards by opposing teams.

⭐️ Both teams had strong performances!

This has also been TCHS Mock Trial's biggest year in terms of participation! The teams consist of Aagna Dave, Abbigale Howell, Baylee Sharlow, Daisy Wilkerson, Elijah Rogers, Emily Milby, Gabe Watts, Hope Hansford, Jax Parish, Jonah Buechel, Josie Essex, Jude Hess, Kaysen Thompson, Kellis Lawrence, Maylee Holt, Molly Myers, Nashya Winfrey, Reid Dabney, Roger Dickson, Rose Harmon, and Zoey Bottom.

The team is coached by English teachers Kathryn Goode and Ashley Neal, as well as their Attorney Coach Jon Hieneman.

The team would like to extend a "thank you" to their alumni, UK’s Mock Trial Team, the KHSMTA board, and all of the volunteer judges who make this competition possible each year. 🫶
